I had a wonderful dinner at Quanto Basta Enoteca recently. It was very busy when we arrived around 8:00PM, and the restaurant had a great vibe. Service was prompt, friendly and professional. They had no problems accommodating a peanut allergy. There are tree nuts in a few dishes, but no peanuts or peanut products in the restaurant when I was there. I didn't have dessert (I was too full) but the only thing they couldn't guarantee the safety of was the bread, so I avoided that. I started with a caprese salad and had the fish special for my entree. This restaurant has a very small kitchen and a small menu, but you get the impression that anything you order is going to be great. I would like to go back for one of their pasta dishes sometime very soon. This is an Italian restaurant so they are heavy users of wheat, eggs, dairy, and fish. However, I think they run a very professional operation, and if you are allergic to some of these allergens, I think they would be able to accommodate you with something safe and basic. Quanto Basta is owned by the same people that own Capocaccia up the street on Yonge, which is a place that I visit regularly as well. I wouldn't hesitate to eat at either of these two restaurants if you're looking for great atmosphere and great food in mid-town Toronto, with no peanuts.
