I ate at Bar Du Village on several occasions. I arrived on St. Barts one evening around 9:00PM, and I immediately headed to this restaurant for a bite to eat after dropping my bags. I found my way to the actual bar at Bar Du Village, and was greeted by one of the friendliest people I have ever met, who happened to be the server working at this restaurant. Equally as friendly was Felix Questel, the head chef at Bar Du Village. Felix mentioned that he had some fresh mahi mahi, and he could prepare me a dinner I would really enjoy. I went for it, and I was not disappointed. The food was simple, fresh, and delicious. Since I had such great two-way communication with the person preparing my meal, I was totally comfortable eating here. Because of this, and also because the food was amazing, I ended up having dinner here several times and I was never disappointed. Again, because of the high level of communication, I was able to try dishes I've never eaten at restaurants before, including special desserts etc. This was a wonderful experience, and it just goes to show how amazing an experience can be when you have excellent communication with the person(s) preparing your meal at a restaurant. I highly recommend Bar Du Village for a dinner if you are ever on the island. Go on a night when you are prepared to leisurely eat dinner and make some new friends.
